Our mission is to preserve, celebrate, and share the rich cultural heritage and history of our people, including the vital contributions of Native American descendants, or Mixed-Bloods. We are dedicated to honoring our past while fostering a vibrant future for all members of our community.

The Department of Culture & History is committed to safeguarding the traditions, languages, and stories that define the Sakochee Tribe. We strive to educate, inspire, and connect our community members and the public with our unique cultural identity, embracing the diversity and strength of our Mixed-Blood heritage.

We work diligently to document and teach traditional practices, ensuring that they are passed down to future generations. This includes ceremonies, crafts, and oral histories that are integral to our cultural identity.

We maintain and expand our archives, preserving historical documents, photographs, and artifacts that tell the story of the Sakochee Tribe, including the experiences and contributions of Native American descendants.  Our team conducts research to uncover and interpret the rich history of our tribe, sharing these findings through publications, exhibitions, and educational programs that highlight the diverse narratives within our community.
